Pickle Ball is the hottest new game sweeping the country! It is a combination of tennis, ping-pong, racquetball and badminton. The game is played on a badminton court with lightweight paddles and a plastic perforated ball. Bring your own paddle. Level 1-2.5 is for those with little or no experience. Level 2-3.5 is for those who are playing the game now or have had previous experience.

A full day camp program with an environmental focus located at Coindre Hall and Gold Star Battalion Beach. FOR CHILDREN ENTERING GRADES 1-8 AS OF SEPTEMBER 2024. You must print your receipt in order to receive the emergency/medical form that must be completed and returned one month prior to the start of camp. REQUESTS TO PLACE CHILDREN TOGETHER (OF THE SAME GRADE) MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME YOU REGISTER. IT IS A POP-UP QUESTION AND YOU WILL NEED TO ENTER THE OTHER CHILD'S NAME, AGE & GRADE AT THIS TIME (ONLY 1 REQUEST IS PERMITTED). Registration beings March 5th at 10 AM online only for residents. March 12th begins for in person and for non-residents. To accommodate the working parent, we will be offering Gold Star Plus, which is only available for children enrolled in Gold Star Camp, from 2 PM to 5:15 PM, details, fees and registration information is listed on our website.

A full day camp located on Long Island Sound at Crab Meadow Beach. The program will include a variety of activities such as recreational swim, arts and crafts, sports and special events. Lunch not provided. Medical forms ae required and must be submitted one month prior to session. If a rainy day is declared, the camp will be canceled for that day with no refunds. Group placement requests can only be made during the registration process online.

This program is designed to accommodate the working parent who, otherwise, may not be able to participate in the Gold Star Camp. Gold Star Plus will provide adult supervision for enrolled children from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Activities will include arts and crafts, nature activities and sports. This is only available to participants that are registered for Gold Star Camp. Registration begins March 6th at 10 AM for residents and March 13th for non-residents.

Skateboarders will learn the necessary skills to utilize and enjoy the new state of the art Skate Park, which includes a street section, flow course, and amoeba bowl section. The camp will include instruction in all three areas of the park. Intermediates MUST be able to drop in and kick turn on a banked surface.

Teen and Young Program

ELIGIBILITY: Young men & women, 12 years of age through 25, able to function in a mostly
independent social recreation program. Must be independent in personal care areas.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Bright Star Saturdays is an inclusive social program for teens and young
adults. Participants will engage in social-emotional promoting activities like music therapy, structured arts and
crafts, movies, bingo, bowling and more. The purpose of the program is to give the participants a risk-free and
sensory sensitive environment to socialize with their peers, while enjoying preferred activities. Once
registered, participants are free to come as often as they choose.

Gym Program:

ELIGIBILITY: Young men & women, 16 years of age through adulthood, able to function in a
gym program. Applicants must be independent in personal care areas.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Participants will have the opportunity to use a full size gym to
engage in various games and physical activities. This program provides the opportunity to
participate in basketball, kickball, base running, leisure walking, race walking, relays and other
low impact physical activities. Also, individuals are provided time to personally choose physical
activities.

RECREATION PROGRAM FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES

ELIGIBILITY: Adults able to function in a mostly independent social recreation program or with
help of aide (not provided). Must be independent in personal care areas or have aide (not provided.)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The recreation program involves such activities as sports, a bowling
tournament, socializing with friends, arts & crafts, viewing movies, and adult coloring. Special events such as
holiday parties, dances, and theme luncheons. Professional staff in special education & recreation direct the
program

A full day camp (8:15 AM - 3:45 PM) program on the beautiful Dix Hills Park grounds. The program includes a variety of activities, such as swim instruction, recreational swim, ice-skating, arts and crafts, sports, group games. Limited enrollment. Camp is for children in grades 1-8 as of September 2024

Half Day Camp program. The program will include a variety of activities such as swim instructors, arts and crafts, sports, and group games. Program is for children entering kindergarten September 2024.

Program is designed to accommodate the working parent. Program provides adult supervision from 3:45 - 6:00 PM. Activities will include arts projects, in-house movies, ice skating or swimming. Must be enrolled in Adventure Camp!
